Skykomish Valley

Whether you want to go white water rafting, fishing, hiking, downhill or cross country skiing at Stevens Pass Ski Area, powder skiing/boarding with Cascade Powder Catssnowshoeing, or mountain biking, there are always plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy.

If you love to hike- then the Skykomish Valley is the place for you. The Cascadia Inn is just minutes from some of the best trail heads in the Northwest.

Cross Country Skiing

Stevens Pass Nordic Center also boasts 17 miles worth of cross-country skiing. The snow pack generally provides good cross-country skiing until April. Gear and lessons are available at the trail head station. This is a great way to get some exercise during the winter.

Steven's Pass Ski Area

With a top elevation of 5,845 feet and an average of 450 inches of snowfall a year, Stevens Pass Ski Area offers some of the best skiing in the Northwest. Stevens Pass offers 1125 acres of ski terrain with 37 runs and “numerous bowls, glades and faces.”

Cascade Powder Cats

Cascade Powder Cats is the ONLY snowcat skiing/boarding operation in the state of Washington. From their home base located just 6 miles west of Stevens Pass at Scenic, CPC transports skiers and boarders 8 miles into the backcountry to their private 2400 acre ski area.

Snow Shoeing

The Snoqualmie National Forest offers some of the areas best snow shoeing trails! Stop by the Ranger station on HWY 2, just east of Skykomish to pick up a trail map and find out about current trail conditions.

Iron Goat Trail

Is one of the most interesting hikes in the Cascades. The trail follows the path of the original Great Northern Railway as it slowly wove its way up and over Stevens Pass. The trail features such attractions as the Wellington Distaster site, snowsheds and early tunnels.

Pacific Crest Trail

This amazing trail takes hikers on a journey of a life time from the border of Mexico to Cananda. Skykomish hosts the hikers every summer as they make perpare to make their last leg of the hike. Day hikers can enjoy parts of the trail by accessing either trailhead at the top of Stevens Pass.

Bridal Veil Falls

One of the most scenic hikes in the Skykomish Ranger District. Plus, it’s an easy hike so it’s great for families and children.Atop Bridal Veil Falls is Lake Serene.

River Rafting

The Skykomish River is the best-known advanced whitewater run in Washington. With easy access from Seattle, stunning mountain scenery & a nearly year-round season, Skykomish river rafting has long been one of the Evergreen State’s most popular trips.

Cascade Loop

Stevens Pass Highway is part of the Cascade Loop that circles the upper part of the Cascades from the Puget Sound to the misty mountains. It is one of the most scenic drives in the country.
